-CHOCOLATE!-

 


   Today I’ll posting about chocolate. Chocolate is loved by many people. I love this, too. Now I’ll show about chocolate’s origin, type, ingredients and so on.
 
 
 
 Chocolate’s raw material is cacao. Country of origin of cacao is Mexico, Central America and South America. It starts to cultivate at these place about 3000 years ago. Chocolate’s origin is that Olmecs who are ancient Mexico tribe grind and bray chocolate and diluted with water. They don’t only diluted in water but also use of various additives.
 
  In the beginning of 19 century, Van Houten success in pressure of fatty matter, mixing of sugar and solidify so makes a chocolate like today’s chocolate. And Daniel Peters success in added of milk in 1876.
 
  There are three type of chocolate, first chocolate made from 100% chocolate powder, contain nothing. Second made from 60~99% of chocolate powder and contain cream, nut and so on. Third is chocolate cookie, made from 20~59% of chocolate powder and made with wafer, nut and so on. One of the cookies, Chocolate has highly nutritious and much fatty matter, so it makes calorie 550kal per 100g.
 
  Cacao which chocolate’s main ingredient has much polyphenol, it controls active oxygen, cleans our blood and lower blood pressure. So it prevents us from angina, MI, high blood pressure and so on. Also caffeine and theobromine which much contain in chocolate stimulate our central nervous system. Caffeine by improving our brain activity, relieve our stress and fatigue. Also it improves concentration and feels good. So many students eat chocolate on the trial period. But chocolate is high calorie food and high in fat. So if we try this many times, we can become obesity. And excessive consumption of caffeine can cause insomnia, heartburn and so on.

  1. Hello Minhye~ My favorite cookie is chocolate! As you mentioned above, Third chocolate cookie which is made from 20~59% of chocolate powder and made with wafer, nut and so on is my taste. It is very sweat among chocolates. For example, Ferrero Raffaello is consisted of dry coconut, sugar, wafer, flour, nonfat dry milk and so on.
    Your information about Cacao is very interesting. Its main ingredient has much polyphenol and it has many merits. Also I knew caffeine is bad thing. But it is good to sentiment. Your posting is a great help to widen my knowledge.
